Far off in a trough, no crib for a bed,
The wee young God man lay down His sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky look down where He lay,
The wee young God man sound sleeps on the hay.
The cows start a low moo, the babe He soon wakes
But God’s love gift to us, no cry does He make.
I love Thee, my sweet King, look down from the sky.
And stay by my bed ’til the morn is nigh.
Be near me my good Lord, I ask You to stay
Close by me for all time, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear young ones in your peace and care,
And fit us for Your home, to live with you there.
Can you guess the task?
Well done! I never would have thought of doing what you’ve done. Loved it 🙂

Such an inventive and genius response to the prompt, and one of my favourite Christmas songs.

Thank you. It was kind of you to reciprocate. It’s one of my favorites, too.

This is an awesome response to the One-Syllable Word Challenge. I love it . . . love it . . . love it!!! Wow — even the Title consists of One-Syllable Words. I’m just floored. This one’s out the park!

What a great response to the daily prompt – I love it! I’ve just posted mine. I re-wrote the Luke and Matthew verses which tell the Christmas story. I found the names the biggest monosyllabic challenge: Mary and Bethlehem took some creative thinking and frankincense us now ‘strong scent’!

Thanks. Hope you enjoy it. I’m a bit worried I may have missed a few words of more than one syllable!

They were. My customers today were mostly older folks sending their loved ones gifts early because they won’t be out and about for the next three days. We are expecting a big Nor’ easter storm. There was a younger man who wanted to compliment my shoes, but read somewhere that a woman would think that strange, so he said to me,”I like your hair.”

You are delightful. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the one syllable challenge. If your brain isn’t fried.
